M5 Software Solutions LLC ("we", "our", or "the company"), operator of RealBrand Filter ("the extension"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. How the Extension Works

RealBrand Filter is a client-side visual filter that runs entirely in your browser. It's important to understand:

• We do not modify Amazon's website or code. The extension only changes how product listings are displayed in your browser.
• You have full control. All filtering is based on your personal preferences and can be adjusted or disabled at any time.
• Visual changes only. The extension applies CSS styling to dim, hide, or highlight products based on your settings. Amazon's actual page content remains unchanged.
• No data is sent to Amazon. The extension reads publicly displayed information on the page but does not interact with Amazon's servers or APIs.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally (On Your Device)

The following data is stored only on your device using your browser's storage API and is never sent to our servers:

• Your Preferences: Filter settings, display options, trust thresholds
• Custom Brand Lists: Brands you've added to your personal whitelist or blacklist
• Anonymous Extension ID: A randomly generated identifier (e.g., "ext_abc123") used solely to sync your settings across devices

2.2 Information Synced to Our Server

If you use the extension across multiple devices, we sync the following to our secure database (hosted on Supabase):

• Your filter preferences (hide suspicious, dim unknown, etc.)
• Your custom whitelist and blacklist brand names
• Your anonymous extension ID (not linked to any personal information)

3. Brand Database

Our extension downloads a database of known brand names from our server. This database:

• Contains only brand names and trust scores
• Is cached locally on your device for performance
• Does not contain any user data

4. Affiliate Links

RealBrand Filter includes an optional affiliate link feature that adds an Amazon Associates tag to product links you click. This feature:

• Is enabled by default but can be disabled in settings
• Does not track which products you view or purchase
• Simply appends a tag parameter to Amazon URLs
• Helps support the free development of this extension

To disable affiliate links, go to the extension options and turn off "Enable Affiliate Links".

5. Data We Access on Amazon

When you visit Amazon search pages, the extension reads:

• Product titles and brand names displayed on the page
• Sponsored/promotional labels on listings

This data is processed entirely on your device to determine which products to filter. It is never sent to our servers.

• Local data: Stored until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
• Synced data: Retained on our servers until you request deletion

8. Your Rights and Choices

You can:

• Disable affiliate links: Turn off in extension options
• Export your data: Use the export feature in settings
• Delete your data: Uninstall the extension to remove all local data, or contact us to delete synced data
• Reset to defaults: Clear all custom settings and brand lists

9. Third-Party Services

We use Supabase for our database infrastructure. Their privacy policy applies to data stored on their servers.

10. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the extension or our website.
